The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) is responsible for maintaining the historic character of Capitol Square while providing for the health, safety and convenience of those who work in and visit the complex. CSRAB is charged with interpreting the role of Ohio's Statehouse in national and Ohio history, to celebrate its art and architecture and to highlight its ongoing impact on the daily lives of Ohioans and thereby inspire all Ohioans to participate in state government.
The mission of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board is to facilitate the operation of state government, preserve the historical integrity of the Capitol Square Complex and educate visitors about the history of Ohio and civics.
The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) logo speaks to the history, preservation and education that have transpired on Capitol Square over the past 160 years. The logo depicts the west side of the Ohio Statehouse with its distinct Cupola prominently displayed. Symbolically, the 17 stars arranged around the Cupola represent Ohio's entrance into the union as the 17th state in 1803. The eight columns accurately convey the symmetry of the Statehouse's Greek Revival architecture, while the burgee shaped shadow, between the fourth and fifth columns, depicts the swallow-tail design of the state flag of Ohio, officially designated as the "Ohio Burgee."
