As part of the year-long Ohio Statehouse Lincoln Bicentennial celebration, a special visit by 'Abraham Lincoln' took place on April 24, 2009. A one-hour presentation was given on the West steps of the Statehouse by Abraham Lincoln re-enactor, Pete Raymond of Wooster. Mr. Raymond told the story of Lincoln's life from birth to assassination in character as the 16th president.
From sea to shining sea, school children, Lincoln look-alikes, governors and state legislatures, parliaments, universities, and citizens young and old marked the birth of the 16th president throughout 2009.
