State Representative Gail Pavliga is currently serving her second term at the Ohio House of Representatives. She represents Ohio’s 72nd House District, which encompasses nearly all of Portage County.
Prior to being elected to the House, Pavliga has been heavily involved throughout the community such as being a Sunday school teacher, serving as a host volunteer family for the Alliance Area Ulster Project, and supporting several recreational and community sports teams. She has also served as a member and previous Vice President of the Portage County Republican Women’s Club.
One of her proudest achievements was receiving her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Akron. She also received a Master’s Degree in Individual/Family Studies/Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Science both from Kent State University. She was also a college professor for over twenty years.
Dr. Pavliga also knows what it’s like to build a small business as an entrepreneur herself. She serves as a Christian Counselor and Life Coach at the Christian Counseling Alliance and Portage Christian Counseling Centers in association with the Evangelical Christian Church for the past 15 years.
Gail and her husband Frank have lived and worked in Portage County for 30 years. They have been blessed to raise their two children Katie and Steve in Portage County. Their children both graduated from Waterloo High School and all four of them are graduates of Kent State University.
