Marilyn Reid represented Greene County for four consecutive terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. She served on the following House committees:
-Task Force on Insurance Fraud (vice chair),
-Insurance,
-Judiciary and Criminal Justice,
-Veterans Affairs, and
-Public Utilities Committee.
Reid received degrees from the University of Illinois and Ohio Northern University College of Law, and was a practicing attorney in Greene County for over 30 years. She was involved in many community activities and organizations, including the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce (past president and board member), the United States Commission on Civil Rights (Ohio advisory member), the Dayton Panhellenic Association (past president), the Y.M.C.A. Building Committee (member), the Kappa Beta Pi Legal Sorority (national officer), the Beavercreek Branch Management Y.M.C.A. Committee, and Mt. Zion United Church of Christ.
