Michelle Schneider served in the Ohio House of Representatives for four consecutive terms after her election in 2000. A small business owner from Madeira, she attended Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining the Ohio House, she was a member of the Madeira City Council from 1993-1997 and served one term as mayor beginning in 1997. She introduced six bills in the Ohio House, two dealing with advocacy for diabetes self-management education and health care policies. Due to of her extensive work in this area, Schneider was awarded as the 2002 Diabetes Advocate and the 2004 Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Health Advocacy Network.
